Come join us for our first “Make and Take” event! This is a fun, simple craft project that makes a lovely wall hanging. Start with a simple rainbow cut-out, wrap different colors of yarn, and ta-da – Rainbow Wall Hanging!
We will have both white acrylic rainbows and wood rainbows, depending on your preference. We’ll supply the rainbow cut-out and will have lots of colors of yarn to choose from, so you can personalize your rainbow!
Come make a Turkey Barn Quilt. This is such a fun take on a barn quilt, and it can be displayed in your living room (instead of the side of your house or barn!) This event is 2 hours long because of the amount of time you might need to paint all the pieces of the quilt. If you can, feel free to plan for extra time. The colors shown are just an example – we’ll have a variety of paint colors available for you to use!
If you can’t make it for the Make and Take event, you can purchase the kit here: DIY Turkey Barn Quilt OR come to the Delight Design shop at 516 N Grant to purchase!
Our first Make and Take of 2022 will be a Heart Tic Tac Toe. You’ll be able to color/decorate and assemble this fun Tic Tac Toe! We’ll have a variety of backgrounds and color options to choose from, so you can make it your own!
Just wanted to pop in your email inbox with a quick reminder that we are hosting Wood Embroidery classes next week. I’ve become slightly obsessed with making new Wood Embroidery kits, and can’t wait to share this with you! If you aren’t local, you can always purchase a kit from the website.
Over the next few weeks, I hope to make some videos to make it even easier to learn how to “wood embroider”, but our kits do include how-to instructions with photos! All the wood embroidery signs are made from high quality light gloss finished wood, and once you finish with the embroidery, we’ve included felt backers to complete the back, and sawtooth hangers for hanging!
Here’s the info on the classes… and a few new kits I made this last week!
WOOD EMBROIDERY CLASS
Join us in the shop to learn the two basic stitches and create your own lovely wood embroidery sign.
This kit/class includes:
A pre-printed scalloped wood sign, with holes, ready to embroider.
High-quality embroidery floss in white, yellow, and green
Embroidery needle
Easy-to-follow instructions
Felt backing for a finished look
Choose from two dates – Tuesday, June 11th at 6:30 p.m. OR Saturday, June 15th, at 10:30 a.m.
Also, choose from THREE wood options: light birch wood finish, dark wood finish, or black wood. All four woods have a glossy finish to them, so once you add your embroidery and the felt backer, the sign is complete!
The scalloped sign is approximately 7.5 inches in diameter, and has a sawtooth hanger on the back for hanging.
RESERVE YOUR SPOT today, so we can have your kit ready for the class.
AND MORE EMBROIDERY…
I have absolutely loved creating and designing new wood embroidery, so much so that I dream about designs when I sleep at night! Here are a couple more options you can choose from, with many more to come!
I realized after we cut the white wood version of “He Who Promised”, that white daisies probably wouldn’t work well, so I decided to add the colorful flower option! This shows a slightly different stitch for the flowers, but you could make colorful daisies too, if you like that style instead. Order online, or in the shop!
The hand-lettering quotes and verses that make these signs AMAZING, are from Danielle from Imperfect Dust. As soon as I saw hersharing a video of making the “God Is In This Story” hand lettering, I knew I would be making something special with it. This is the perfect song/quote to encapsulate the last 2 years of my life.
“God is in this story God is in the details Even in the broken parts He holds my heart, He never fails When I’m at my weakest I will trust in Jesus Always in the highs and lows The One who goes before me God is in this story”
Today, June 8th, marks ONE YEAR since my open heart surgery. I’m in awe of what He has done, both before the surgery when I was so sick, and since the surgery, in the last full year of healing and recovery. He had my heart, both physical and spiritual, in His hands.
I am forever changed because of this part of my journey. I’m thankful to be here, to be alive and well, gaining strength every day. To be healing from trauma. To be finding a new lease on life. Everything is not perfect, but it is ALL in HIS hands, and I’m learning every day how to walk in faith and trust God for every breath.
One year! Here’s to so many more…as He goes before me, making the way.
We’re excited about Yorkfest this year, and the theme of Lego and Building Community Connections! In the spirit of that…on Saturday September 11th, we’re offering a FREE Make and Take (while supplies last). Come in between 9 and 2 p.m. and get one free Lego mini figure ornament. You can color it in our DIY Party room, or take it home to color/decorate.
Join us to make this gorgeous Pumpkin Door Hanger. You can paint it however you like! We’ll have additional ribbon choices as well. The size is 18 inches wide by 14 inches tall. It will also come with jute to hang through holes that you can’t see behind the bow.
“Make and Take Anytime” project – Pocket Hugs!
These Pocket Hugs make great gifts for someone special! Come down to the shop and pick out one or two, color/paint them and use glue dots to add them to the cute cards. The card says, “Hold this tight and know I care, even when I can’t be there”. Price is $3 per Pocket Hug, or 4 for $10. Open Tue-Friday, 10-3 and Saturday 10-1
