GRATITUESDAY – Paint Parties!

I’m a day late, but better late than not! So, it’s GratiWednesday this week!

We had our first acrylic painting Paint Party in the shop last night, thanks to Samantha Jewell. Nine of us painted the Floral Heart Painting last night, and it was SO. MUCH. FUN! Besides all the fun we had, the party raised money for HUGS For Tomorrow, feeding and educating kids in Malawi, Africa.

When I opened the Delight Design shop, one of my main objectives for the Party Room was to fill it with not only lots of crafting, BUT to use it in ways that would glorify God and share His good news. Partnering with Samantha to gather people to paint WHILE raising money to feed kiddos? THE BEST!

And we are just getting started! This Paint Party is one of THREE we scheduled for the Floral Heart Painting. We filled up the first party in less than a day, so we added a second one. And then a third! And Samantha is already working on the painting for March. The excitement and positive energy filling the shop and the party room is electric, and I’m so incredibly grateful for what God is doing.

Besides paint parties for adults, we are also making plans for paint parties for kids, AND so many other crafting type events. I can’t wait to see what 2024 brings, and we’re off to a great start.

Now, if you missed last night’s party, do not worry! You can still join us! There is ONE spot open for tomorrow, Thursday the 8th, and THREE spots open for Tuesday, the 13th. We originally thought we could get eight spots, but when we set up, we were able to make it nine. So, SIGN UP, come join us, laugh and have fun, paint a fun picture, and feed some kids in Africa at the same time!

Help Please!

As I work through a 2024 yearly plan for the shop, and especially for craft items AND classes we offer, I’d love some feedback from our friends and followers! Can you look through the list and comment with any of the ideas that appeal to you? (Feel free to private message me as well, if you prefer).

– Paper crafting kits (cards, scrapbooking, etc)

– Kids crafting (share any ideas you might have!)

– Needle felting / Felt Crafts

– Jewelry making

– Bible Journaling

– Calligraphy / Hand Lettering

We will continue to add kits and items you can craft anytime to the shop. We LOVE when you come in and craft during the week when we’re open! BUT, we’d also like to offer regular weekly (or bi-weekly) evening/weekend events this year, if there is interest. If you have an opinion on dates/times, that’d be great to know. And if you have additional suggestions for crafty classes, I’d love to hear them!

And finally, if YOU would like to facilitate craft/art classes, please let me know!

If you aren’t local, I’d be interested in your opinions too, as we’re working on a revamp of the website for 2024 too!

Make and Take… Anytime?

Yes! We are working hard to create craft kits and projects that are available for you to purchase and make, anytime the shop is open! ​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
We’ll still have planned Make and Takes and crafting events/classes, but we’d like the DIY/Craft Party Room to be open for crafting when it’s convenient for you! ​​​​​​​​

We’ll share a few of our current projects over the next few days, and in the future you can watch for the “Make and Take Anytime” sticker to know which projects are available! ​​​​​​​​

A few notes:​​​​​​​​

  • Projects will rotate in and out, based on stock and season​​​​​​​​
  • The space IS limited, so crafting will be on a first come/first served basis. ​​​​​​​​
  • These “anytime” projects are for our regular store hours. We’ll still be planning specific after-hours events and Make and Takes on Saturdays.​​​​​​​​
  • Please come join us whenever you can! It’s SO fun having crafty things happening in the DIY/Craft Party Room! ​​​​​​​​

Valentine’s Day Card Make & Take

For our local friends, we’ve got a special Valentine’s Day Cards Make and Take this FRIDAY, the 4th and next MONDAY, the 7th! Come down to the Delight Design shop at 516 N Grant anytime between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on either day and have the kids color and assemble their Valentine’s Day cards!

We’ve got over 12 different fold-over card designs they can choose from, AND To/From labels, AND seals to close them up. We’ll provide pens and colored pencils for coloring and a place to get this project done and off your list for February!​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Cards include snake, panda, llama, 2 gnomes, frog, tiger, cat, dog, unicorn, flamingo and monkey images. Your kids can pick and choose their favorites and get sets of 10 or 25 cards.

Remember – you can come anytime between 10 and 3 on Friday or Monday, but we DO need to know you’re coming so we have plenty of supplies and cards on hand. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Any questions, just ask!

Turkey Barn Quilt Make and Take

Come make a Turkey Barn Quilt. This is such a fun take on a barn quilt, and it can be displayed in your living room (instead of the side of your house or barn!) This event is 2 hours long because of the amount of time you might need to paint all the pieces of the quilt. If you can, feel free to plan for extra time. The colors shown are just an example – we’ll have a variety of paint colors available for you to use!
