Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7
I love when the Bible echoes itself and makes SURE we understand. A couple of weeks ago, the verse was from Psalms, and it mirrored this one. “Give all your cares to the Lord…” “Cast all your anxiety on him…”
I think God’s message is pretty clear. He wants us to give it ALL to him.
“…and he will give you strength” “…because he cares for you”. He will carry us and he loves us. It’s hard to argue (not that we would?), when we realize how much He wants us to GET this.
So, today’s focus? Casting it ALL at Jesus’ feet and letting him love me through whatever is causing fear, anxiety, stress, turmoil. It’s all ON HIM, not me.
As always, if you would like this week’s verse for your phone wallpaper, I’ve designed the graphic. I set it up as a free download when you sign up for my email list (that I’m really trying to get going again… hello New Year’s resolutions!) I can hardly believe that it’s already 2022, but here we are! 2021 was full of ups and downs and so many amazing new experiences for our family and for my business, and I can only imagine what the next year will bring.
And speaking of this next year, I’m excited to share something new that I’ll be posting both here on the blog and on Insta/Facebook. It’s called No Fear Friday, and will include encouraging words from Scripture. The first verse, which I actually posted on insta/Facebook yesterday, is one I’m going to hold onto and meditate on for the entirety of 2022. My personal focus, and the focus of Delight Design as well, will be sharing God’s promises, with thankfulness, and remembering we don’t need to have fear, regardless of our circumstances.
It might sound a little simplistic or trite, but after the last couple of years in our world, I don’t think focusing on “no fear” is all that easy! And covid and politics aside, life… is hard. And scary sometimes. And overwhelming and a whole host of crummy things. I find myself sometimes living moment by moment, trying not to be afraid or anxious. So, I truly hope No Fear Friday will be a blessing to you, but I’ll be doing it for me too! Because I for sure need weekly reminders!
So, here’s this week’s image! I made designs using two different versions, as one is a little easier to read.
I also made a free phone wallpaper for you, in case you’d like a daily (hourly, minute-ly) reminder of the scripture on your phone. You can click to get the full image, then right-click and download to use on your phone.
So, Happy New Year, and God’s blessings as we enter 2022!
“Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.“
I am so thankful for No Fear Fridays, because almost every week, I think “Wow, it’s been A WEEK!” There are so many things happening these days that cause stress, anxiety, concern, exhaustion… and No Fear Fridays have become a way for me to stop each week and REALLY think about what God’s promises are for me in the midst of ALL the things. This week’s verse was perfect for my Friday. (I have these verses already planned out in a list for the entire year, and it seems like each week the verse is JUST RIGHT for my mood, my fears, my life).
So, this verse is from a chapter in Deuteronomy where Moses is telling the Israelites that he (Moses) won’t be moving on with them to the Promised Land. He is naming his successor who will lead the people now – Joshua – and reminding the people that even in this time of transition, God will be there. God will go with them and he will NOT leave them or forsake them. They can TRUST, be strong, have courage and NO FEAR.
There are a lot of “best” things about our God, but one of the best of the best is that He never changes. He is steadfast and faithful, and He is the same God who was with the Israelites then… and who is with US now. So, although these words were given thousands of years ago, they apply to us too. God is WITH us. He GOES with us through all that we go through. He will NOT leave us nor forsake us. You and I can be assured of this, and hold on tight to God’s promise.
If you’d like to download this week’s verse to put as a wallpaper on your phone, just click the image below. I might say it every week, but it’s been such a blessing to have these reminders right there, whenever I open my phone 468 times a day.
“Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.“
“When my anxious thoughts are many, Your comfort delights my soul.”
It’s been a rough couple of weeks, literally everywhere. I’m sure I’m not alone with anxious thoughts. Thank God for his steady, faithful presence and his unchanging comfort.
I set up this design as a free phone wallpaper, and you can get it when you sign up for my email list. If you are on the email list, you’ll get the wallpaper in an email later today.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
It’s not been the most peaceful week, anywhere.
But God promises… Jesus promises… we can have peace. HIS peace. He left it here for us, he gives it to us when we need it. And the peace is for always. It’s not a one-time gift or something that can be taken away. We don’t have to be worried or afraid because HIS PEACE is with us and in us.
It sounds easy. And in some ways it is. For me, it’s about focusing. Meditating. Remembering. I can’t create peace within myself on my own. But I can have HIS PEACE.
Give all your cares to the Lord and He will give you strength. He will never let those who are right with Him be shaken. Psalm 55:22
This week’s No Fear Friday scripture is such a simple, but powerful one. Our strength comes from God. He gives us what we need, when we turn over our cares and troubles. I like the small but important word “all“. Give ALL your cares to Him. Not some of them. ALL. For a type A, first born, high achiever this one is a hard one for me. I keep thinking I can fix things in own strength. And that would be a hard NOPE. I can’t. Thankfully God says, “give it to me, I’ve got it”.
